About Us: The Winterfest Art Fair is sponsored by the Dragon Arts Group which raises funds for arts scholarships by
coordinating art events throughout the year. An exciting side benefit of these events is that they provide the opportunity to
showcase what the greater DeForest area, “The North Star of Dane County” has to offer.
About The Event: The Winterfest Art Fair presents artists’ hand-crafted works, not the work of mass production studios. All
work must be presented in a finished manner. No work which has been made with commercial kits, molds, patterns or
plans is allowed. The organizers reserve the right to refuse exhibition of work which does not meet this criteria.
On December 1st, the DeForest Area Chamber of Commerce coordinates a large number of individually run events held
throughout the DeForest/Windsor area. These events comprise the overall area Winterfest Celebration. One of the other
events is a craft fair at the Holum Education Center.
We plan to keep our emphasis on fine arts/crafts and will be jurying all new artists. We will work with the craft fair
coordinators to ensure that everyone reaches the market they are aiming for. We will not fill empty spaces just to fill them
and we hope you appreciate our efforts.
About You: Participation is open to all artists 18 years of age or older who exhibit fine art and fine craft works of original
concept, design, and execution by the exhibiting artist. Artists are responsible by law to pay applicable state and federal
taxes on work sold.
If you like to have fun and want to be part of an event planned around your needs, then you should be part of the 2007
Winterfest Art Fair.
Registration: Registration does not guarantee a spot in the 2007 Fair. Applications and photos (digital or hard copy, non-
returnable) will be reviewed and juried as the are received. Registrants will be notified by mail of their acceptance status.
Information packets with booth location, hotel and area info, event updates, etc. will be sent separately.
Requests for specific booth location will be considered, however, the organizers cannot guarantee the result.
Registration cancellations made within the two week period prior to the fair will not be eligible for refund and that artist
will lose pre-registration privileges for the 2008 show.
Fees/Booth Space: One 10’ x 10’ booth space costs $90 (you may request two spots, but approval will depend on available
space). Two booths will cost $180 An “early bird” registrations rate of $75/booth is available until August 15, 2007.
Set Up: The fair is in the DeForest High School cafeteria. Vendors should plan to unload in the parking lot at the front of
the school. Set up will be early Saturday from 6:00 AM to 8:45 AM The booth assistants will be available from set up to
tear down to assist the artists and food vendors.
Parking: Parking is available in the large student parking area. Do not park in the lot at the front of the school during
fair hours.
Refreshments: A continental breakfast will be provided to the artists. Great food will be available for purchase on-site
throughout the day as well.
Silent Auction: A silent auction of artist donations is held in conjunction with the Fair to benefit the Dragon Arts Group
scholarship fund. If you decide to donate an item, please indicate on your registration form what you will be donating and
the minimum bid which should be accepted.
The organizers assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, damaged goods or exhibits.
